The Lucky Ones
In 2016, Atlantic Coast Gymnastics closed its doors for the day upon the news that its head coach, Joseph Catrambone, faced accusations of physical and sexual assault. A year later, still processing the news, the gymnasts at ACG found that they were not alone when sexual assault allegations against national team doctor Larry Nassar rattled the gymnastics world. The Lucky Ones looks into the culture of a sport that cultivates relationships of abusive trust and a testimony to resilience. It is a reflection on how this culture came to be, and poses an important question: how do we move on from here?
